Inspiring children to achieve their personal best

Inspection - Ofsted

Thursday 3rd November 2022

Dear parents/carers,

It is with great pleasure that I write to share the wonderful news that our school has maintained its ‘good’ Ofsted rating.  I am delighted that the dedication of our staff and pupils was recognised by the Ofsted team – the positive feedback we received on the day was fantastic!

Some highlights from the report are:

  • Pupils say that bullying rarely happens.
  • Older children show kindness by helping younger children.
  • Leaders are ambitious about what they want pupils to learn and achieve.
  • Teachers … have secure subject knowledge and use this to present information clearly.
  • Pupils with SEND are accurately identified and well considered plans are in place to help them to achieve their best.
  • Pupils learn how to be responsible and active citizens.
  • Leaders have created a positive culture for safeguarding.
  • Reading has a high profile in the school (and) children enjoy reading a wide range of books.

Although the report is quite short, we had a lovely meeting with the inspectors after the inspection where they went into more detail about what the school does well and how we might improve further. The inspectors also shared some of your comments which was encouraging and heartwarming – thank you for your kind words and your suggestions. As always when we receive advice, we will continue to work hard to make further improvements going forward.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks for your ongoing support of the school.

Kind regards,

Miss Wilding

Headteacher
