Sports Premium Grant

Primary PE and Sports Premium Report 2020/2021

Our funding for 2020/2021 is £17,483.

The Department for Education Vision for the Primary PE and Sports Premium is as follows:

‘All pupils leaving school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.’

At St Andrew’s we keep this vision in mind in our action planning.  We continue to extend after school clubs provision which is well attended. We have continued to invest in quality PE teaching and we are fully committed to inter-school sports partnership promoting competitive sporting opportunities across a range of disciplines for all our pupils. To this end, we are using a significant proportion of the grant to continue to employ Mr Payne as a part time PE and Sports Leader. This has supported participation in a great many sports tournaments. Mr Bailey has also supported these events which are featured regularly in the school newsletter.

We have also continued to commission a specialist dance teacher to lead dance workshops in all classes termly to enhance and promote enjoyment in this aspect of the PE curriculum. Pupil and parent feedback in relation to this provision continues to be very positive.

Monitoring and Impact

The Headteacher reports to the Governing Body at the termly full Governing Body meeting on the provision, detailed costings, and impact of the actions detailed in the action plan. A fully evaluated action is presented to the governors in the Autumn Term.
